Why should you consider one of these mugs? Well, they are 100%
leather, 100% hand-crafted, which means, hand-tooled,
hand-painted/stained, hand-stitched, and hand-waxed/sealed. The
leather we use is a thick 10-14 oz leather (about 3/16" thick, like a
heavy cardboard box). We completely saturate the finished mug with
beeswax, hardening and strengthening the leather almost to the density
of wood. Finally, the inside of the mug is coated with a mixture
of beeswax and brewer's pitch, which seals the mug while imparting no
taste whatsoever. The mug can then be used for most any beverage
(except hot drinks, like coffee, of course). Beverages we've had
in our mugs range from water, tea, ale, beer, mead, soda, hard ciders
and wine. While I've heard that hard alcohols, like whisky or
vodka, might eat away at the lining, I've not witnessed it firsthand, so
take the warning for what it's worth.

| First thing to consider, the handle. Currently we
have 4 different handle styles. The picture on the right shows the
different choices. The first is a plain handle, the second is a
mystery braid handle (the ends of the handle are solid, with the braid
between), the third is a twist braid, and the fourth, along the bottom, is
a kind of woven handle (I haven't tried it yet on a mug). |

Stock MugsThe following are mugs that
are based off of common patterns, and can be made and sent fairly
quickly. Also, you can order them directly from the web-site.

Custom Mugs
These are some of the custom mugs we've done to help give you an idea
of what's possible. To order a custom mug, you will need to email
us, so we can discuss the design of your mug, to figure out the price.
More than likely, the price of a custom mug will run from $85 - $125, as
they are more intricate than the stock mugs. However, there's
nothing to say a custom mug with a simple company logo wouldn't be
around $65. It all depends.
