Up IFoLG Mug Legendary Duchess Pirate Outfits

Award-winning Mug This mug was actually a commissioned piece for a friend.  I tried a new technique for the handle, where the leather is twist-braided, and turned out really well.  The picture on the mug was tooled, and then painted, before the mug was wax-hardened and sealed. The mug took third place in the open division.  The judges' comments were that I did a good job on the tooling and painting, and they liked the pitch sealing of the inside of the mug.  The one thing I got dinged was the bottom of the mug wasn't perfectly level, which I knew going in.  However, I have learned a better way of constructing the bottom of the mugs, and now can make the bottom good and flat...  So, watch out for next year!!!
